Evening Glow Over the Hills: A Postcard Moment

Postcard No 15: Life by the River

Tonight I needed to nip down to the local store and get some cat food. Our cat , Mink, is a very fussy eater so we never keep too much at any one time because she will just go off it overnight! Anyway, as I was driving back I noticed the lovely evening glow over the hills and when I pulled into the drive it was even lovlier over our back fence and the neighbours paddock. Today’s postcard sorted!

I was late today getting my postcard done because a couple of friends came round for a studio painting day with me and I got a bit involved in a large pastel of icebergs…before I knew it the day was gone! The sheer neccesity of buying cat food made me notice a golden postcard opportunity and I was saved.

If I’d been even a few minutes later the colours would have faded so we have the cat and her fussy eating habits to thank for this one.

Painting small is a great way to play with a format. I can take a photo and then crop several ways to see if a different version would work better.

Which one is your favourite?
