Postcard No: 46 Life by the River
We were out for a morning walk along the foreshore path at Franklin and I saw a surge of ducks and coots speed towards an approaching car. The car stooped and a woman got out holding a plastic bag. The ducks got very excited and they all trailed after her as she headed over to a seat. Then the feeding commenced!

Not a great sketch by any stretch of the imagination but a happy capture of a regular bird feeder. She was only there for a few minutes then back to the car and away.
I knew she was going to feed the ducks because they were so purposeful when the saw the car driving in…not at all like when the other cars arrived.
A little bit of fineliner after a quick watercolour wash and I was done.
The ducks do look more like chooks though!
