Daffodils by the River: Postcard No 71

Life by the River

I crossed the road today to get a better view of some boats and noticed a patch of golden daffodils. They added such a lovely splash of colour to the scene, echoing the yellow of the wattles on the far shore and the gorse nearby.

I’m happy with the foreground and the sky. I like that little patch of magenta I added in as a background to the daffodils. It really helps them pop.

In contrast the far riverbanks and hills are flat and uninteresting. That would need a LOT of work if I were to upscale this.

Maybe what I should do is focus in on the foreground more?
