Life by the River
What a beautiful day it’s been. We started with our favourite morning walk along the boardwalk section of the Port Huon to Geeveston track. There are always lots of birds to see and the rising and falling tides make for interesting changes in the reed beds. Yesterday there were eagles flying over the bush and today a heron had taken over the usual perch of the cormorants with little grebes fishing close by and swallows dipping low over the water.

When you leave the boardwalk you enter into a small eucalypt forest and the path becomes dappled with sunlight and shadows.
The backlit treetrunks add a lovely interlaced frame through which you can see the sparkling water and the distant shore.
Altogether a very satisfactory way to start the day.
This postcard celebrates the dappled path and the cast shadows as they create interesting patterns of light and shade.
