Boat Repairs: Postcard No 116

Life by the River

As we took our daily walk along the Franklin foreshore this morning it became evident that Spring is the time for boat repairs. There were boats in various stages of disrepair lying around the worksheds by the water. There were men in working clothes sanding, scraping and painting. Some of the boats already had glistening new coats of paint and were ready for the new season on the water.

This boat was leaning on it’s side on the grass and definitely in need of some TLC. The blue paint was peeling off and she was looking pretty shabby.

I can’t wait to see her all spruced up but there’s a backlog of boats of all shapes and sizes waiting their turn so it may be some time.
