Life by the River
There are a lot of possums, bandicoots and wallabies here by the river. At night they like to come out and check out the garden smorgasborg. As a result there are some flowers that don’t really get a chance in out garden and roses are one of them.
Fortunately my mum has a small but lovely garden packed with beautiful rhododendrons, azaleas, peonies, spring bulbs and roses to name just a few. She often sends me home with a bunch and these deliciously scented white roses have been adding a touch of delight to our bathroom this past week. Today’s postcard is a homage to roses…especially my mother’s.

A postcard size painting done on acrylic paper with a few Artgraf water soluble wax sticks and some acrylic paint.
Not a masterpiece but a fun 10 minute postacrd.
The leaves are a bit strange and those three at the front should have been positioned better. Still, I think you can tell they’re roses and that’s a step up for me because I’m not a floral artist!
Happy with the glass vase though. I
I always try to find something that pleases me about each postcard. Sometimes it’s hard going but tonight I like the glass vase so that’s a plus.
