Another piece of botanically printed kangaroo leather made up into a simple bag. Nice calming blues and greens. When I'm teaching absolute beginners in soft pastels I like to give them a quick exercise using B&W fruit and veg images for them to apply pastel over. It's a super fun way of getting them to appreciate that value is more important than local colour. They went on to create some great first paintings. :) Making up some small sets of pastels for my Introduction to Pastels workshop tomorrow at The Colour Circle studio. I love sharing my passion for pastels with beginners! Making progress.. This is one of my entries in the Waterways exhibition If I get it finished in time! #paintingforpleasure #tassieartist #acrylicpaintingoncanvas #acryliconcanvaswip On my easel now. My collagraph group smashed it today ! Here's a few of the bird and garden themed prints. Their first time ever trying this fabulous printmaking technique. #collagraph #collagraphprint #collagraphworkshop #collagraphy #printmaking Under the Sprinkler... Based on a photo of my beautiful and joyful great niece. This will be hanging at the Body and Soul exhibition at The Lady Franklin gallery opening next Sat. #bodyandsoul #ladyfranklingallery #artsocietyoftasmania #tasmanianartist #pastelpainting Finished the bag today with a contrast band, lined with eco printed cotton, added 2 slip pockets, a recessed zipper and an adjustable strap. I used up the small scraps making a matching credit card holder and a keyring. Satisfying day.🙂 #ecoprintingonleather #echoesofnature #leatherecoprintbag #botanicalprintingonleather #useeveryscrap #leafandprint #botanicalprinting #contactprinting #leafprinting #botanicalprinting #naturepreserved #naturaldyes #naturesgifts #sewingday #bagmaking Messing around with some eco printed leather...because this sample was quite small I'm mixing and matching with a sand coloured leather . This is kangaroo leather from @PackerLeather- it's beautifully soft but very strong.
