Painting snow in pastels.

February 23, 2017

Setting up. I like to use my Samsung Galaxy tablet to view the reference photo on as I paint because it has great colour and I can zoom in and out for detail if I need to. I just hang it up next to my paper. Then I choose the boxes of pastels I’ll be … More Painting snow in pastels.

Light and Shadow – beach painting.

February 28, 2016

I love this little beach in the south of Tasmania – Drip beach seems such a humdrum name for such a gem of a place ! I painted this over the weekend and tried my hand at a time lapse video which I’m trying to edit to post on YouTube this week. Apparantly it’s very simple – … More Light and Shadow – beach painting.

How to paint a pastel seascape -demo

February 6, 2016

This is my very first post! I thought I would start with a demo painting of a local seascape to share my painting process with you. Hope you find it interesting… Getting started. Sometimes I’ll know just what I want to paint – other times I’ll  look through old photos or my ideas board until … More How to paint a pastel seascape -demo

Glad I looked out my bathroom windows early this morning. What a fabulous sky! Check out @lindyatleafandprint to see more of this eco printed leather bag. One of my favourites thus far. Think this one is done...do you ever go back once you've signed a painting? Dora draped with a selection of eco printed silk scarfs. She's posing under our sycamore tree which supplies so many of the elaves I use for printing. They're all heading off to my Etsy shop tonight ready for Mothers' Day. I'll be moving my eco printing to a seperate IG account @lindyatleafandprint so if you would like to keep seeing what I'm up to why not head over and follow. #ecoprinitngonsilk #ecoprintedcarf #ecoprintinspiration #ecoprintingtasmania #lindyatleafandprint #leafndprint #botanicalprinting #printingonsilk #silkscarfgifts #mothersdaygiftsideas #autumninspiration #inspiredbyleaves #autumncolours Happy Easter to all. Easter for me is a time of hope, renewal, forgiveness and peace. Whatever your personal faith or traditions I wish you peace and hope amidst life's challenges and struggles. A trio of autumn silk scarfs. The sycamore tree is starting to shed it's leaves so I'm busy eco printing with them mixed in with other leaves from my garden. I've been using up some of my leather scraps and samples making glass cases. I'll be uploading to my Etsy shop in the next few days in time for Mother's Day. I was really happy with the lovely fresh green and the zingy orange against the soft greys and tans of the background on this eco printed silk scarf...just listed in my Etsy shop. #ecoprintonsilk #botanicalprintonsilk #botanicalprinting #ecoprinting #printsfromnature #silknaturescarf #eucalyptusprint #textileartist #tsmanianartist #leafandprint #naturaldyeing #printingwithleaves This started life as quite a different painting but then it led me to this autumn forest path! Sometimes the painting goes where it wants to.
