Painting snow in pastels.

February 23, 2017

Setting up. I like to use my Samsung Galaxy tablet to view the reference photo on as I paint because it has great colour and I can zoom in and out for detail if I need to. I just hang it up next to my paper. Then I choose the boxes of pastels I’ll be … More Painting snow in pastels.

Light and Shadow – beach painting.

February 28, 2016

I love this little beach in the south of Tasmania – Drip beach seems such a humdrum name for such a gem of a place ! I painted this over the weekend and tried my hand at a time lapse video which I’m trying to edit to post on YouTube this week. Apparantly it’s very simple – … More Light and Shadow – beach painting.

How to paint a pastel seascape -demo

February 6, 2016

This is my very first post! I thought I would start with a demo painting of a local seascape to share my painting process with you. Hope you find it interesting… Getting started. Sometimes I’ll know just what I want to paint – other times I’ll  look through old photos or my ideas board until … More How to paint a pastel seascape -demo

...it's all up and ready for the hordes of art lovers. We're happy🙂 Looks like I posted twice! Too much chatting to sister and not enough attention to tech😂 ...and my lovely comfy chair is sold. There's always something in an exhibition you secretly hope comes home with you and it's usually the first thing to sell! Finished setting up for tommorow. Here's a sneak peek at some of our work. There's more I didn't get as I just remembered I should take a photo as I was walking out the door😂 Thanks to @ceenoa and @eli.rium and Trevor for all your cheerful help today. First sale made as we were setting up. Come visit us tomorrow at Sidespace Gallery 10 to 4pm. We're open every day closing on 30th May. A couple of last minute eco print projects finished and ready to hang. Just talking to my sister @Ceenoa who is exhibiting with me and she is quietly freaking out...first exhibition nerves. I'm freaking out slightly louder because I've done it before and I know that Wednesday (hanging day) is going to be a doozy!🤣😂🤣 Come and see us Thursday when we will be all serene and relaxed...up for a chat and some demos. So this is what I did with my wood round. If it doesn't find a new home during the exhibition I've found a nice little spot for it right here. This ecoprinted leather and Blackwood bag is all set for the exhibition. One week to go! This is the reality of a small studio and prepping for an exhibition. Paintings are stackinh up everywhere and there's hardly room to move. Can't wait until my new studio is sitting in the drive in just 11 days! One day I will get a camera that photographs blues properly!! Have almost finsished packing up my painitngs for the exhibition . This is one I was reworking and those pebbles are not that blue ...
