I was thinking about what I would do with my Saturday when I noticed all the gum leaves lodged against my back doorstep ( no judgment please!!) Now for some of you that might have been the nudge you needed to start a clean up day but not me – I was more interested in the shapes and colours of the leaves than in cleaning them up! Here’s a few pics of what resulted.

Your porch looks exactly like mine, water can and all. I did draw the water can in my sketchbook last year — one of the first drawing projects I attempted. Our leaves aren’t gum leaves — they’re maple — but I did draw a lot of them, too. You used yours in a far more creative way. 🙂 It’s true that inspiration is all around us.

It is a matter of slowing down, looking around at your feet, on your doorstep. I really like your post and I love your leaf, bright, bold and simple. 🙂

Slowing down is something i have a problem with – too much to do – but it is the key to creating as well so I shall have to improve!
