How can I not love the colours and patterns of the desertscapes of America? Here’s a smattering of photos from our first few days. All exotic to a woman from a green and verdant island.

Great pics! What a wondrous world we live in with all its differences.
But I think green and verdant – with some blue water and sandy shores thrown in- would need to be my permanent choice of habitation.

Loved the sunset colours, and the little caravan looked so brave sitting out there in the desert! But the sight of death valley actually scared me.

Not my cup of tea – I need green – but I can see why folks are attracted to all the space.

I have always wanted to go to the Valley of Fire, beautiful photos especially the first one. But then I love sunset and sunrise. They can be quite extraodinary in the desert.
