Postcard No 32: Life by the River
Today I turned away from the river, crossed the road and focused on the rocks. There are some steep hillsides along the Huon Highway and not far from our home is a small section with some really nicely coloured and textured rocks.

I used my small watercolour set to capture a section of the rock face trying to leave some of the white of the paper. As usual I probably didn’t give enough thought to this as I’m used to being able to add the light bacjk in with my acrylics and pastels.
I do like that I got the colours and suggestion of different textures in the rocks and grasses.
I plan to persit with watercolour sketches for awhile and see if I improve because I really do need to improve!
My mantra is always …practice, practice, practice…so now is the time to see how much I can learn and grow in watercolours through daily postcard sketches.
