Birds and Blossoms: Postcards No 76 and 77

Life by the River

I’m doing a double postcard today as I’ve missed a few due to a bit of chaos on the homefront.

The blossom trees are out and I’m regularly going out in the early morning to try and catch interesting birds sitting amongst the red flowers.

Cresent honey eaters, white cheeked honeyeaters, new holland honeyeaters and black headed honeyeaters regulary visit our garden and they will flit around enticingly but are not good sitters once they get amongst the blossoms. Today I went back to the common house sparrow which is very happy to sit and chirp long enough for me to grab some photos for reference.

A bit muddy with the watercolours but it’s a cheery, springtime postcard.

I also did a little bonus study of just the blossoms.
