Rusty Machinery: Postcard No 109

Life by the River

In the country there are always old farm machinery to be found as you drive around. This one is in a paddock just outside Cygnet on the other side of the river.

I love a good bit of rust but today I chose to use the fineliners and do a black and white sketch. Maybe I’ll add a little watercolour rust later. it’s interesting to imagine what this one was actually used for. Perhaps it was an engine that pulled other farm machines? If anyone out there knows I’d be interested to hear from you.

    Hi Lindy,

This is the machine that runs the trashing machine for the corn.

In ireland our grandfather’s used them. Great sketch.

    regards

Thanks a bunch Loretta for solving the mystery for me. My husband had plumped for a mobile charcoal maker but I thought it must pull another machine. 🙂
