Life by the River

Coming home today I stopped for a few minutes at Franklin to see if the ducklings were about. Yes …there were a lot of ducklings waddling around, plopping in and out of the water and generally looking quite ducky.

There was also a charming little toddler feeding the ducklings and pleading to take one home. Mum explained that would be stealing the duckling from her mother and she would be sad. So toddler settled for a quick pet which duck mum seemed OK with and then chatted away to them all the time I was there.

I asked mum could I take a photo of her daughter feeding the ducks so I could do a little painting and she was happy for me to go ahead.
