A Spot of Fishing: Postcard No 120

Life by the River

It was a beautiful sunny day today and we headed up to Franklin for a walk along the foreshore. On the way up I spotted a few kids fishing of the jetty. Once we arrived it was clear there was a rowing event on as the carparks were packed and there were schoolkids everywhere and about 100 rowing skiffs along the banks.

I though I might do a postcard focusing on the rowing but as we kept walking I saw this little boat close to shore with a man and his dog fishing. Well, the man was fishing, the dog was just enjoying a day out in the boat.

I like the idea of fishing but my early experiences often involved catching awful slimy eels and having to get my big brother to get them off the line for me.

I did take one of my sons fishing when he was young and we were on holiday but proved useless at killing the fish and had to get another fisherman to help me out.

Suffice it to say I no longer fish but I still enjoy seeing others with a line in and this is my homage to them.

    Hello from Northern California, Lindy.

Thank you for your daily postcards. It’s the first email I open after Daily Word. You have always been so generous sharing your art. I miss your online teaching videos and are envious of your class participants. Be well.

    Cheers, Jackie

Hello Jackie, So nice to hear from you and know you enjoy my little postcards 🙂 I do miss the videos as well and tried to get back into it but have had lots of setbacks with camera equipment and my editing software so after a few aborted attempts that took up hours of my time I gave up! Maybe it will work out later. In the meantime I’m enjoying my little daily challenge. Hope you’re enjoying your own art as well?
      Cheers, Lindy
