A Delicate Shade of Green: Postcard No 128

Life by the River

I found a beautiful greenish blue egg and some eggshells in the garden yesterday. They belonged to the ubiquitous blackbird which is an introduced species and takes habitat form native birds. I can still empathise with it’s eggs demise…the birds don’t now they’re feral.

It’s such a delicate colour that I couldn’t resist painting it in watercolour for today’s postcard.

There were a few scattered feathers nearby which make a nice contrast to the eggshells.
