A Spotted Pardalote: Postcard No 135

Life by the River

There are so many birds around the garden and I thought I’d seen them all but today I saw not one but two spotted pardolotes. I haven’t noticed them before so it was a lovely surprise as they are a favourite small bird.

The first one smacked into the bathroom window and when I went to check it was OK I saw it was a spotted pardalote . It clocked ma at the same time and shook it’s head to clear it and flew off to a nearby tree stump.

Later on I was painting in the studio and my son came in and asked if I knew there was a bird trying to get out at the window. I looked up and there was another pardalote over where I clean my brushes. Once I opened the sliding doors it happily flew off into the afternoon.

I switched from my sketch book that buckles to a nice 300gsm postcard size block of Baohong watercolour paper so I could get the details better. I hope to see more of them in the garden over summer.

    Hi Lindy,

What brilliant bird story, I love the fact you perched the bird on a painting brush.

The person who receives this post card will be very privalidged.

    regards

Thank you Loretta. It seemed the perfect perch for a bird in an art studio! Lindy 🙂
