A Boat Memory: Postcard No 147

Life by the River

There’s a serene little bay down past Cygnet called Drip beach and I’ve painted it quite a few times. Sometimes I’ve set up my easel and painted on the spot and other times I paint from memory or a photo.

This lovely boat used to often be anchored there but I haven’t seen it on any of my recent visits.

Today’s postcard is a happy memory of a day I spent painting at Drip beach several years ago when the boat was reflecting nicely in the still water.

Other times I’ve visited there have been people swimming or walking on the beach. Once there was a Dragon boat team practicing which was exciting. last time I was there a young girl was doing yoga on the beach while her horse munched some grass nearby.

Drip beach is always worth a visit.
