Life by the River

We often see a large white egret when we’re out walking by the river. They really stand out with their snow white plumage against the water.

I was experimenting with a new multi plate collagraph and wanted to feature this elegant bird. This is the artist proof and there’s a lot to fix. I also tore some of the paper off the beak because I didn’t wipe the plate enough and the ink was too tacky. I did a little repair job with glue and some watercolour. I like the composition so I’ll give it a try on the steel press…I did this on my CPL.
